It was the year 1992 and, in front of many researchers and authorities of the territory, the tombs attributed to Jolanda di Brienne (second wife of the Swabian emperor, born in 1212 and died in 1228) and of the third wife of Frederick II Isabella of England (born in 1214 and died in 1241 , the latter also protagonist of a recent study published on the blog VideoAndria.com ). In front of the cameras of Rai and local broadcasters – among the journalists also a very young Vittorio Massaro– the two boxes containing the bone remains of the two women were brought to light. All this was carried out to verify the veracity of what has been handed down over the centuries, on the initiative of the then Bishop Mons. Raffaele Calabro . It so happened that the late Mons.Calabro, after the end of his earthly life, was buried in the very same crypt, a few meters away from the two wives of Frederick II:
